British Values
British Values at Our School
At our school, British Values are fully embedded within everyday school life and are closely aligned with our core ERIC values of Respect, Effort, Independence and Communication.. We are committed to developing pupils who are confident, thoughtful and prepared for life in modern Britain.
Through our curriculum, assemblies, school council and daily interactions, we actively promote the fundamental British Values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.

-
Respect underpins everything we do. Pupils are taught to value themselves and others, to listen carefully, and to celebrate difference. This is reinforced through our work with the No Outsiders programme, which helps children understand equality, inclusion and the importance of being kind and accepting of everyone.
-
Effort is encouraged across all areas of learning and behaviour. Pupils are supported to persevere, take pride in their achievements and understand that effort leads to success, reflecting the value of individual responsibility.
-
Independence is developed by giving pupils opportunities to make choices, express opinions and take responsibility for their actions. Children learn about individual liberty in an age-appropriate way, understanding their rights and freedoms and how these are protected by rules and laws.
-
Communication is central to promoting democracy. Pupils are encouraged to share ideas, discuss viewpoints respectfully and take part in decision-making through class discussions, pupil voice activities and the school council.
By embedding British Values throughout our curriculum and school culture, we aim to ensure that all pupils feel safe, valued and prepared to play a positive role in society, now and in the future.
