Maths

Welcome to our Maths journey, where curiosity, confidence, and creativity come together from EYFS all the way to Year 6.

From the very beginning, our youngest learners explore numbers through play—counting, sorting, and discovering patterns in a hands-on, meaningful way. As children grow, so does their understanding, carefully built step by step through the White Rose Scheme of Maths, ensuring every concept is secure before moving on.

Across the school, you’ll see children using practical resources—counters, cubes, number lines, and more—to bring Maths to life. These tools help turn abstract ideas into something tangible, supporting deep understanding rather than just memorising methods.

Maths here is active and engaging. Through games, children develop fluency and confidence, while investigations encourage them to ask questions, think critically, and explore concepts in depth. Whether solving real-life problems or working collaboratively, every child is supported to explain their thinking and learn from others.

By the time they reach Year 6, our pupils are confident mathematicians—equipped not only with strong skills, but with a genuine enjoyment and curiosity for the subject.

Maths is more than numbers here—it’s a journey of discovery.
